Copying and pasting feel a bit awkward in Mac OS X, but it can be made more comfortable with specialized applications. An excellent example is PasteBox, which keeps a history of copied items, giving you the possibility of pasting anything you want, anywhere, regardless of which items you have copied first or last. This means that you don't have to navigate to specific folders or keep multiple Finder windows open when you need to copy and paste several items repeatedly.

Once you have the application up and running on your Mac, which shouldn't take more than a minute, anything you copy will be "remembered". Clicking PasteBox's icon, located on the menu bar, will reveal a history of copied items. All you have to do is select one and the application will paste it automatically, on an active window or on the desktop, if there are no active windows on your screen.

The application works with any files, regardless of size or format, but it also works with plain or rich text, URLs, Hex colors and other items. You can enable or disable the support for specific types of items in the application's general settings menu, where you can also set up hotkeys and make other tweaks.

Pros

You may copy multiple items a single time and paste them in any order you want. The application is absolutely free and it can be installed in just a few seconds.

Cons

There are no drawbacks to mention. With its straightforward functionality, PasteBox gives you full control over your Mac's clipboard.
